Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days started Wednesday, Oct. 6, and Mashable has rounded up the best deals across gadgets, TVs, laptops, and accessories. The sale runs through Thursday, Oct. 7, and the outlet’s team has spent hours sorting through the discounts to pick the ones worth buying right now.
The headline act is a $79 pair of AirPods. That price is currently available at Walmart, which means Amazon may be holding back inventory for its own event. The fourth-generation earbuds have excellent audio quality, a comfortable fit, and a five-hour battery life. The newer AirPods 5 sound even better and add ANC, but these remain a solid option for iOS users on a budget.
AirPods vs. Walmart
| Product | Price | Where to Buy |
|---|---|---|
| AirPods 4 | $79 | Walmart |
| AirPods 4 | $79 | Amazon |
The AirPods 4 dipped to $69 during last year’s Black Friday. At $79, this is their lowest price so far in 2026. They probably won’t be in stock much longer now that their successors have launched.
Laptops and SSDs
Amazon has finally cut prices on Apple’s newest MacBooks, and the 14-inch model stands out among the deals. Equipped with an M5 Max chip, the base version featuring 36GB of RAM and 2TB of storage saw a $500 price hike in June, moving its cost from $3,599 to $4,099. The store now offers it at $3,499, marking a reduction of $600.
For buyers who don’t need the Pro’s power, the M5 MacBook Air is on sale for $1,099, $200 off the normal price. It stays in a moderate lane without going wild with features.
Amazon’s Own Devices
Prime members can currently save up to 53% on two Fire tablets. Our pick is the small Fire HD 8, which comes with 64GB of storage and is the standout choice among all Fire tablets we’ve tested. The other model is the large Fire HD 10, packing 32GB of storage, nicer cameras, and a sharper display. Both share the same 13-hour battery life.
The 4K Plus Fire TV streaming stick is also deeply discounted. Amazon raised all Fire TV stick prices by at least $5 in August, pushing the 4K Plus from $49.99 to $69.99. Now it’s just $37.99, and you can try the coupon code STREAM4K as well.
Smartwatches and TVs
The Apple Watch SE 3 is down to $229, the lowest we’ve seen at Amazon. Mashable’s review of the best smartwatches ranks the SE 3 as the best model for most people. It was the first Apple Watch to include an always-on display, and the S10 chip matches the Ultra 3, which costs nearly $800 at full price.
TCL’s QM8L series leads the TV deals. The 65-inch TCL QM8L is the best QLED TV for most people, per Leah Stodart, Mashable’s former TV expert. She praised its “superb peak brightness, detailed picture quality, and fantastic glare handling.”
The Prime Big Deal Days sale has pushed the QM8L down to $2,297.99, a savings greater than the $2,497.99 price point that was hoped for. The device measures 85 inches.
What We Look For
Mashable’s team looks for products they recommend at record-low prices or close to them. They use price-tracking tools like camelcamelcamel to check if Amazon’s discounts are better than usual, then cross-check against other retailers’ listings to ensure they’re not cheaper elsewhere. Walmart and Target are both gearing up for their own October sales, FYI.
The sales are currently running, and the store says it will refresh its selection with new reductions as they come in. Further cuts could still happen over the next few days.
