Seven-Figure Boost From Pro-AI Super PAC Lifts Three Trump-Endorsed Senate Candidates

GOP senators Collins, Marshall, Hinson get a seven-figure AI super PAC boost ahead of the midterms, targeting Sanders and more.

Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, Sen. Roger Marshall, R-Kan., and Rep. Ashley Hinson, R-Iowa, are receiving a seven-figure lift from an AI super PAC as they run for the Senate, and the campaign spots name the party blamed for technology’s issues. The Alliance for a Better Future (ABF), a conservative AI policy group, is putting millions behind these three candidates ahead of the midterms.

Throughout September, a fresh round of advertisements will go up, sticking to ABF’s previously unreported $1 million donation to MAGA Inc. last week. The group says the three lawmakers mirror President Donald Trump”s measured position on AI, which calls for safeguards alongside common sense.

Trump’s Words on AI

Trump made remarks on the subject in June, and among them was the remark “[AI] can be used for tremendous good, mostly good and some bad. And the bad we have to stop.”.

ABF is pitching a balanced approach: candidates who champion American innovation while also applying safeguards. The ads precede the campaigns and target voters who have grown wary of AI.

The Ads Target Socialist Lawmakers

The advertisements do more than endorse Republicans. They also warn against the dangers of letting socialist lawmakers such as Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., take charge of AI policy.

“The same people who consistently fail you will write an AI rulebook for their benefit,” the advertisement reads, as images of Sanders, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., and Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., appear on screen.

Sanders’ office did not reply to Fox News Digital’s request for comment on being singled out in the campaign ads.

Kelly’s Warning on China

Janet Kelly, ABF’s CEO and the former Secretary of Health in Virginia, warned that China will “cheat and steal and lie” to beat the U.S. in the AI race at a Breitbart-hosted policy event last week.

The U.S. must move with diligence and urgency to build this technology at a rate that keeps the nation ahead of foreign rivals, she said.

“We cannot cede this responsibility to Socialists like Bernie Sanders who have a track record of destroying our economy and palling around with our enemies,” Kelly said in a statement to Fox News Digital on the new ad buys.

What the Candidates Have Said

ABF is pursuing AI development with protections, and Collins, Marshall and Hinson have each backed policies that support that approach.

Hinson has said the U.S. needs to keep ahead of Beijing on technology while being careful about AI’s dangers. Marshall called AI a helper for American workers, not a replacement — supporting steps to deal with both workforce and energy effects.

In Maine, Collins has backed federal spending on advanced computing even as she pushes for protections against misleading AI-generated election materials.

The Industry Context

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei issued a warning over the weekend that the industry needs more time for safety measures to keep pace with quickly advancing AI capabilities, which his company helps lead. A researcher at Anthropic had quit just days before, publicly raising concerns about the technology’s risks.

One of the most prominent AI chatbots in the United States is Anthropic’s LLM AI Claude.

All three CEOs publicly backed Amodei’s position on slowing the pace of AI development: Sam Altman of OpenAI, Elon Musk of Tesla and SpaceX, and Demis Hassabis of Google DeepMind.

Trump on Monday rejected the calls for implementing safeguards and restrictions on AI, arguing the technology needs a “STRONG AND SMART” president rather than added restraints.

The Political Race

The organization ABF takes a cautious approach to artificial intelligence policy, placing a high value on American interests as the field advances. Its priorities include safeguarding children, the economy and national security.

For their home states’ Senate races in the midterms, all three GOP lawmakers stand as Republican nominees.

The group’s stance is straightforward: American ingenuity should be trusted rather than socialist governance. The advertisements continue running through September.

What We Don’t Know

The three candidates’ offices did not reply to Fox News Digital’s request to comment on the new advertisements and clarify their stances on AI. That silence leaves the claims unverified.

The ABF donation to MAGA Inc. was previously unreported.

Candidate State Midterm Position
Susan Collins R-Maine Senate
Roger Marshall R-Kan. Senate
Ashley Hinson R-Iowa Senate
Group Role Position
Alliance for a Better Future (ABF) Conservative AI policy group Safeguards plus innovation
MAGA Inc. Super PAC Backing Trump-endorsed candidates
Anthropic AI company Calling for slower development
OpenAI AI company Supporting slower development
Elon Musk Business leader Supporting slower development
Demis Hassabis AI company Supporting slower development

Now, defining AI policy has turned into a political contest. The issue at stake is which party voters believe can manage it better: the conservatives or the socialists.
