A comedy series called Happy Jack has been given the go-ahead by AMC Global Media, and it brings Charlie Sheen and his father Martin Sheen back to television together. The multi-camera show is set to debut on AMC and AMC+ in 2027, with production beginning early next year at the Warner Bros. lot.

In Happy Jack, Charlie Sheen plays Jack, a “bit of a lifelong ne’er-do-well” with two adult daughters whose dad (Martin Sheen) had a big hand in raising. One of them, Kate, keeps Jack’s company running and Jack functioning. The other, Sam, is a “wild child” who returns home with a new boyfriend — who is her dad’s age.

The Creative Team Behind The Show
Happy Jack is a show created by AMC Studios with Jim Patterson and Matt Ross serving as its writers and co-showrunners. Patterson and Ross had previously collaborated on Two and a Half Men, although Sheen’s 2011 departure. They also worked on Netflix’s The Ranch came before Ross joined that series. The pair executive produce the show alongside Charlie Sheen, Todd Christopher, The Tannenbaum Company’s Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum and Jason Wang, and 20th Television. Eric and Kim Tannenbaum also held EP positions on Two and a Half Men.

AMC is set to air Happy Jack as its first multi-camera comedy, and it will rank among only a handful of comedies and dramedies the network has ever broadcast. The most recent such show was Lucky Hank, starring Bob Odenkirk, which aired in 2023.
