Billionaires have always been a bunch of penises, but they’re really starting to get annoying, what with their data centers, appearances on Joe Rogan’s podcast, and public spats with Macklemore. That’s the premise of Wednesday’s South Park episode, “Billionaire Penises Infest South America,” which finds Butters reaching his breaking point after a group of billionaires infests his backyard with Weenietown.
The episode opens with Butters complaining about the penises in his backyard, only to be dismissed by his AI-obsessed parents. His father, Stephen, scolds him: “The Stotches are not communists. Don’t make me ground you for being a Libtard!” Then Stephen concludes that Butters’ Luddite attitudes aren’t genuine, but the result of something more sinister: “We let Butters get vaccinated. Our son may actually be Libtarded.”
The elders of Weenietown grow worried as their town’s population swells with billionaires drawn by its data center, and much of the negative attention they attract is of their own making. “Who went on the Joe Rogan podcast last night?” the mayor of Weenietown wonders aloud.
The Mayor’s Blunt Reminder
While leading a seminar on the manners expected of billionaires, the mayor delivers a direct warning: “Remember when you were young, you were socially awkward little penises nobody liked. Well, now that you’re billionaires, you’re still socially awkward little penises nobody likes. Just because you got rich doesn’t mean you got cool.”
Deaf ears greet the message while the penises keep drawing controversy: “Who went out and got into an argument with Macklemore? Some little penis decided Macklemore needed a little talking to.”
Stephen’s Podcast-Fueled Outburst
Butters temporarily misses dinner, and then Stephen goes after his wife, saying she hasn’t taught herself anything — err, listened to podcasts: “I told you this would happen, but you went behind my back…. I knew what this vaccination would do to him. Because I listen to the podcasts. But you couldn’t take time out of your precious day to listen to podcasts, and now your son is a libtard, vaccinated and turned transsexual and fucked to death in the streets of South America.” Stephen eventually comes forward to the FBI on his own for having sex with a sheep.
The Threat of a Power Outage
The attempts made by Butters to get rid of the billionaires living among his neighbors fail at first. Only when the possibility of a power failure interrupts the November launch of Grand Theft Auto 6 does anyone in South America show willingness to take action. The elder penises, thinking only of their own well-being, join forces with Butters and devise a plan to remove the most irritating members of their group — sending them away to Nashville.
The Episode’s Final Surprise
The finale brings an unexpected appearance from the show’s most detested tycoon — complete with his trademark appendage — which implies that the apolitical season opener was likely a one-off event rather than a sign of what is to follow.
What This Episode Actually Says
The episode uses Weenietown’s billionaire infestation as a vehicle for satirical commentary on tech billionaires’ culture clashes, vaccine skepticism, and social awkwardness, delivered through Butters’ perspective. It’s a sharp, funny episode that doesn’t waste its time.
- The billionaires are literally penises, which is the whole joke.
- The mayor’s seminar is a perfect satire of billionaire culture.
- Stephen’s podcast-fueled rant is the funniest moment in the episode.
- The relocation to Nashville is a clever twist on the idea of moving a problem somewhere else.
The season has gotten off to a solid beginning, and the brief appearance implies the show intends to keep this particular form of irritation around for a while yet.
