Twisted Sister have announced Totally Twisted – The Studio Albums 1982–1987, a box set that brings together the band’s first five studio records. The collection arrives November 13th through BMG and Rhino Entertainment.

The box comes in two formats: a 5-LP color vinyl set and a 5-CD edition. Each album gets its own colored sleeve — red, blue, pink, green, and yellow — and all versions are open for pre-order now.

The Five Albums

The set runs from the band’s debut through their final studio record. It starts with Under the Blade (1982) and moves through You Can’t Stop Rock ‘n’ Roll (1984), then Stay Hungry (1984), followed by Come Out and Play (1987) and Love Is for Suckers (1987).

That last title alone tells you what kind of band this is. It’s a collection of records that defined the group’s run, and the set puts them side by side in one package.

Sebastian Bach Sounds Strong

Twisted Sister are currently fronted by Sebastian Bach, who took over the role after the original singer left. The band are in the middle of a North American tour, and Bach is holding his own in the position.

His presence on the records matters here. This is a band that has kept its sound intact even as personnel changed, and Bach’s performance across the five albums is a sign of that continuity.

The Tracklist

The full tracklist runs across all five albums, with each record getting its own section. Standout cuts include “We’re Not Gonna Take It” and “I Wanna Rock.”

One note on the tracklist: Love Is for Suckers closes with a bonus track, “King of the Fools,” which only appears on that album’s CD edition.

The Vinyl Colors

The color scheme for each LP is simple but effective:

  • Red: Under the Blade
  • Blue: You Can’t Stop Rock ‘n’ Roll
  • Pink: Stay Hungry
  • Green: Come Out and Play
  • Yellow: Love Is for Suckers

Each album also carries its own artwork, and the full set is available for pre-order now.

The Tour Continues

Bach is still on the road with the band. That tour runs alongside the release of the box set, giving listeners a reason to follow the band’s current run while also looking back at the records that got them here.

A Box Set Worth Hearing

The collection is a straightforward archive play. It gathers the records that defined the band’s run.

For longtime fans, this is a chance to revisit the records that made the band what it is. The set gives them a single package that covers the whole span of the band’s output from 1982 to 1987.

The Verdict

Twisted Sister have been around for decades, and this box set is a reminder of why they mattered. The vinyl colors are a small but pleasing detail. The tracklist is comprehensive. And the fact that Bach sounds strong in the role is a good sign for the future of the band.

This is a solid release from a band that knows its history. It won’t change anyone’s mind about Twisted Sister, but it doesn’t need to.

The Bottom Line

Totally Twisted – The Studio Albums 1982–1987 is out November 13th. Pre-orders are open now, and the vinyl and CD editions are both available.

If you want to own the full run of these records, this is the easiest way to do it. The box set is a good value for what it contains, and the tour calendar means there’s live music to look forward to as well.

Twisted Sister have made a career out of being loud, and this box set celebrates that.
