Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave asks players to find pepper leaves for a quest, and the game has scattered those leaves across four nodes spread across three regions. The leaves appear in the Myugria Great Tree in Saveilon, the Traveler’s Garden in Castalia, the Forest of No Return in Pasithea, and Cape Nereus in Solidus. None of these nodes are especially rare, but the distance to some of them is considerable, and the game wants you to think about which path saves the most turns.
The quest in question belongs to Leda and is called “Captains’ Drink Recipes.” Completing it requires at least one pack of pepper leaves, and it rewards 180 renown points, more drink options to buy, and the Song of Icewater+, an upgraded version of Leda’s defensive area-of-effect song. The deadline for the quest is November 27th.
Pepper Leaves vs. Wonder Leaves
Pepper leaves are easier to find than wonder leaves. Wonder leaves are “pretty rare,” while pepper leaves turn up in multiple nodes. There are no significant differences between the nodes themselves, so players can pick the one that suits their current route best, whether because of proximity or secondary objectives they happen to be chasing.
The Myugria Great Tree
The Myugria Great Tree is the easiest node to reach if you are near the Salacia Posthouse. The area sits on the south part of the map, and you get to it by traveling to the Salacia Posthouse and heading south from there. It is a fast trip if you are already in the neighborhood.
Traveler’s Garden
Traveler’s Garden is also within easy reach, though it takes you to the northeast corner of the map. You need to head toward the Castalia region, then use a carriage to the Eochaid Posthouse. That puts you fairly close to the node, and the directions are simple: keep moving east of the Port of Pandora, then move north once you reach Zethus Falls.
Forest of No Return
The Forest of No Return is the farthest node for this material, and it comes with a warning. You must make sure you have enough turns to go back, because it is far from the Chiron Posthouse, the closest node you can travel to using a carriage. It sits in the northwest part of the Pasithea area, and you might find enemies in the surrounding nodes.
Cape Nereus
Cape Nereus is on the southwest corner of Solidus, on the border with the large desert of Nysiades. There are two nodes you could travel to using a carriage: Aragona Posthouse and Cartodo Posthouse. Both are close to Cape Nereus, but you can save a few turns by prioritizing the Aragona Posthouse.
Comparing the Four Nodes
| Node | Region | Closest Carriage Node | Distance Warning |
|---|---|---|---|
| Myugria Great Tree | Saveilon | Salacia Posthouse | Quick, close |
| Traveler’s Garden | Castalia | Eochaid Posthouse | East of Pandora, then north |
| Forest of No Return | Pasithea | Chiron Posthouse | Farthest, enemies nearby |
| Cape Nereus | Solidus | Aragona Posthouse | Southwest corner, desert border |
What the Quest Rewards
Completing Leda’s “Captains’ Drink Recipes” quest gets you 180 renown points, more drink options to buy, and the Song of Icewater+. The song is an upgraded version of Leda’s defensive area-of-effect song. The deadline is November 27th, so timing matters if you are planning a trip to one of these distant nodes.
The Long Road Ahead
Fortune’s Weave is a massive game, and the pepper leaf nodes are just one small part of it. The game offers guidance on navigating its complex paths of causality, including explainers on which character you should pick first, how to change heroes, and whether you should play in casual or classic mode.
As you progress through the early Heroic Games matches, the game recommends focusing on recruiting more characters, unlocking Boons of Salvation, and finding ways to spend your free time productively. Just don’t forget to visit the Perch and have a quick Bird Time session.
The Verdict on Pepper Leaves
The pepper leaf nodes are a fair amount of work for a single pack of leaves. The Traveler’s Garden and Myugria Great Tree are reasonable stops if you are passing through anyway. The Forest of No Return carries a real risk of running out of turns, and the Cape Nereus trip adds distance on top of it.
If you are chasing the quest deadline, the smart move is to check your current position on the map and pick the closest available node. Pepper leaves are not rare, but they are not sitting in every node either, and the game has clearly designed the quest around a little bit of inconvenience.
The advice holds: know where you are and where you are headed.
