Trinity is a TikTok creator who claims one date made her wonder if dating is worth it. Her doubt came from being charged for a meal she did not want, a $100 bill that left her questioning the whole experience.
@trinity.blair posted the account in a video that has gathered 992,000 views and 188 comments. At the time, she and her boyfriend were both struggling financially while attending college together.
The Date That Started With Wingstop
A proposed date involved having Wingstop delivered to his home. Trinity explained that she understood his financial situation, but she preferred going somewhere else instead.
“So, I go on a date with this man. I get to his house and he tells me, ‘Yeah, we should probably just order Wingstop in because that’s all I can afford right now.’ And I’m like, no. I did not come all this way for us to order Wingstop to your house. Not what we’re doing,” she says. “Me, I’m very understanding of being broke, okay? We’re college students. I get it. So I’m like, ‘It’s fine. I’ll pay. Let’s go somewhere. I’ll pay. It’s fine.'”
Trinity says she had never eaten at Papacito’s before, which is a Mexican restaurant, and that is where they ended up.
The Fajitas Cost $80
Trinity was enthusiastic about the restaurant at first. But her date changed course, telling her she should get fajitas rather than the burrito she had intended to order.
“Mind you this guy is like tall and scrawny he does not eat and I’m petite, I’m not gonna eat a pound of chicken either,” she says.
Trinity says she barely touched the fajitas because she wanted the burrito instead. The fajitas alone were $80, and she made herself a mini taco and ate a quarter of it.
The $100 Bill Changed Everything
Trinity had offered to pay for the date. She says she did not expect the meal to cost $100. She paid the bill and left a tip.
She now says that she could have been more direct about what she wanted when looking back.
She says “I could have spoken up for myself and been like, ‘No, I don’t want the fajitas, I want the burrito,'” and then “Instead, I just sat back and was like, ‘Yeah, yeah, let’s get the fajitas. I don’t know. It’s weird being a woman in this day and age. Anyways, I will never go on a date again, period. I don’t trust anybody. That’s all.'”
What the Comments Said
People had different reactions to her video, with some wondering aloud why she rejected the original Wingstop idea.
“You was being greedy should have taken wingstop😭,” one commenter wrote.
A commenter took issue with the choice to order the pricier meal when Trinity was footing the bill.
The words were written down by hand, and they remain as they were put to paper:
