Call of the Sea is an adventure game from Out of the Blue Games, published by Raw Fury. It first shipped on December 8, 2020, for Windows, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. Amazon Luna got it on April 15, 2021. PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 followed on May 11, 2021, and the Nintendo Switch version arrived on September 9, 2025.

Norah, Harry, and the Island East of Otaheite
The story opens in 1934. Norah Everhart gets a package holding a photo of her husband Harry and coordinates pointing to an island east of Otaheite, now Tahiti. Harry had gone missing on an expedition. His goal was a cure for the mysterious family illness that is slowly killing her. She has dreamed of this island before.
Norah reaches the island and finds the expedition’s camp. The party was Harry, a reporter named Cassandra Ward, mechanic Frank Drayton, dermatologist Ernest De Witt, stuntman Roy Granger, and Teaharoa, their Tahitian guide. Cissy Jones plays Norah. Yuri Lowenthal plays Harry.
The game is single player and first person, with platform, puzzle and indie elements and historical and mystery themes. There is no combat. Puzzles are the only way forward.
A Well, an Organ, and a Temple on the Peak
The islanders once used a well for a ritual built around a black ichor. Roy blew the well open with dynamite. He killed himself in the blast and splattered De Witt’s arm with the ichor. De Witt began losing his sanity and growing skin blotches like Norah’s. The team tried to repeat the ritual, then dropped the attempt once the Lady Shannon, the ship that carried them, washed ashore nearby.

Norah repeats the ritual. The well fills with ooze, and she is inside it. In a vision she walks off a cliff into a river, watched by a giant amphibious-looking creature, and becomes a sea creature. She wakes near the wrecked Lady Shannon, torn apart with claw marks, its crew gone.
At a second camp, De Witt had stabbed Frank while insane. The others stopped him and tied him up. He later disappeared. Norah travels to the temple, where the expedition had used loudspeakers to play the organ’s music and open the temple door. That set off a rockslide.
A sequel, Call of the Elder Gods, came out on May 12, 2026, for Windows, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
The IGDB critic aggregate puts Call of the Sea at 7.2/10 across 6 outlets. That looks about right. The puzzles are the weakest part of the package, and the island’s beauty carries more weight than the verbs do. What holds it together is the story underneath, and the story is the reason to play it.
