Four women perform together on a dimly lit stage.

On Tuesday (Sept. 29), four female vocalists took the stage together for the first time as Tommy at The Chloe in Nashville. Courtney Marie Andrews, Cornelia Murr, Lola Kirke, and Katie Pearlman performed as a group, and they made it clear they weren’t the only performers in the building that evening.

The two acts shared a date at the Ryman Auditorium, with the quartet performing on the same night as Geese. To draw people to their own set, the band told fans they could switch between the two shows without losing any of the action. This was a useful addition, though it also implied the quartet understood their own performance might not be enough to fill the space by itself.

The Origin Story

The band says Tommy was born on August 8th, lionsgate, 2025, in upstate New York, and that the project started by accident. A cumulative total of 72 martinis and 9000 American spirits (celadon) were involved, alongside one neighbor’s handsome adult son who came to teach tennis in the afternoon and then stayed until dawn. That neighbor, the handsome adult son, showed up to teach tennis, and his presence turned into an unexpected writing experiment.

“Tired of the expectation that solo artists must do everything themselves, they decided to try something different.”

Four Women, One Invitation

Courtney Marie Andrews, Katie Pearlman, Cornelia Murr, and Lola Kirke are singer-songwriters who make up the group. They describe themselves as more than a girlband, four like-minded women who choose to turn toward friendship, art, and beauty in an increasingly isolating world.

The creators frame their undertaking as a summons to everyone to take up harmony, depart from the din of this world, and return to the bonfire, where one is free to sing one’s heart out and howl at the moon.

What Comes Next

No songs have come out yet, but they are bound to arrive soon. The group performed for nothing at their very first live appearance, and recordings from that event sit beside promotional clips online.

The Drinking Story

What draws people in is the tale itself: a night of drinking, a handsome neighbor, and a shared affection for ’80s folk music that became a working band. It is the kind of story that makes listeners want to hear the music.

The Solo Artist Problem

Artists who work alone get used to handling every task by themselves. Tommy is taking a different approach. They are leaning on friendship, art, and beauty instead.

The Bonfire Invitation

This group is asking listeners to welcome peace. Step out of the clamor of daily life. Return to the fire, where voices can rise freely and cries can ring out to the sky.

What We Know So Far

The band has now played its first show, and it has made its identity plain to all who attended.
